Logistics/Warehouse/Forklift Operator Certification and Medical Front Office Certification

The Baltimore County Out of School Youth Program – LEAP – is recruiting participants for the Logistics/Warehouse/Forklift Operator Certification and Medical Front Office Certification (2 locations) programs. Information Sessions for the program run in March & April. Please refer all potential clients, friends and/or interested parties. For eligible clients/students these programs are offered at no cost. Students need to have a high school diploma or GED, live in Baltimore County and be between the ages of 18 – 24. All other eligibility requirements will be addressed at the info sessions.

Free CNA & GNA Training & Certification (APPLY HERE)

Through funding by the Maryland State Department of Labor, New Pathways offers free CNA/GNA classes. To be eligible for enrollment, you must:

  • Be 18 to 24 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have a 9th grade reading level
  • 7th grade math level
  • Documentation (Birth certificate, social security card, photo ID, immunization record)
  • Clean drug test
  • Pass a criminal background check (no felony convictions)

Patient Care Technician (APPLY HERE)

Classes forming for a Fall 2019 start.

Patient Care Technicians perform delegated nursing assistant functions that require a higher level of technical ability and skills. A PCT is an “add on” to an existing CNA/GNA certification that will train the participant in phlebotomy/venipuncture, IV therapy, basic EKG, and specimen collection. Upon completion of the program, the participant will be eligible for the following national certifications:

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Clinical) Credentials: CPTC
  • Certified EKG Technician (Clinical) Credentials: CETC
  • Certified Patient Care Technician/Assisting Credentials: CPCT/A


To be eligible for enrollment, you must:

  • Be 18 to 29 years old
  • Live in the Baltimore metropolitan area (City or County)
  • Have a high school diploma
  • Possess an active Maryland CNA/GNA license for at least 6 months
  • Have previous work experience as a CNA/GNA
  • Have a current CPR/AED BLS certification for Health Care Providers
  • Have annual physical and negative PPD within the past 6 months
  • Have a strong desire and ability to work full-time as a PCT upon graduation
