Community Outreach

In addition to providing services to the young adults who are referred to us, we know how important it is to extend those same services and support to the families of the greater metropolitan area at large. To that end, we have taken our work into the community in an effort to engage vulnerable youth and young adults where they live. These strategies commonly use a partnership model that hosts our programs in a variety of sites, and which provide an array of individualized services. Below is a list of some of our 2016 community initiatives:

PATHFINDERS: Support for Homeless Youth: New Pathways partners with the Y in Central Maryland and Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) to provide year-round intervention to homeless youth in Baltimore County high schools. The Pathfinders program provides pre-employment skills training, summer employment, individual case management, and family support. The program’s focus is on successful completion of high school, housing stability, and vocational or college preparation.
CAREER SEMINAR WORKSHOP: In partnership with the Baltimore County Public Library (BCPL), New Pathways provided a 4-part career starter workshop and seminar series to local youth. Course was free and open to the public.
CNA/GNA CERTIFICATION: New Pathways partners with the Maryland Center for Adult Training (MCAT), Genesis Healthcare, and VSP Services at Sinai Hospital to provide CNA/GNA training and certification and employment to eligible candidates.
WAREHOUSE LOGISTICS CERTIFICATION; New Pathways partners with the Community College of Baltimore County to provide certification in Warehouse Logistics.
